Contact Form

One of the forms on the Recite CMS web site is a contact form (http://www.recite.com.au/recite). This form was added to the site using the form management tools.

There are a number of different forms available (such as user registration and user login), including a form that allows you to define a list of custom fields. Our first step is to create this form.

When creating this form we can define a list of custom fields. For this particular form we add a field for the user's name and email address, as well as a field for them to enter their inquiry. The following screenshot demonstrates the creation of the email address field.

Recite CMS gives you the option to notify any number of people by email whenever a form is submitted. Once we created the contact form we added a recipient to the form. This is so our site administrator is notified when a user completes the form.

Note: We also created an email template before adding this recipient. You can include any details in the email as required. Additionally, your email template can be either plain text, HTML, or both.

Next we create a template for displaying the form on the contact page. We then open container management mode add the "web form" container rule to a local container. To complete this step we select the newly-created form and template. Now when container management mode is closed and the page is reloaded the form will appear and can be submitted.
